Characteristics of CPR training by KOKEN RESIM

Vital responses, such as the eyes opening in response to
a call, respiration, pulses, pupillary refles, heart sound
and blood pressure, can be observed as realistically as those of the guman body.

Difficulty level can be set according to the level of the
trainees by changing initial condition and technical appropriateness level. Appropriate CPR will revive the
vital responses of the simulator.

KOKEN RESIM closely resembles the human body in appearance
and touch. Since real vital responses can be observed
when appropriate CPR measures have been taken, it can enhance the awareness of the trainees.

Since KOKEN RESIM can be used to evaluate the trainees and give them advice in detail, it makes them confident in the techniques to citizens.

*)The vital response calculating algorithm of the microcomputer consists of circulation and respiration system algorithm. lt calculates blood pressure and tissue oxygen and carbon dioxide concentration to determine thesituation of the simulator.

Training procedure and main functions

1.Confirmation of vital signs ao normal condition
1)confirmation of consciousness(by the eyes opened by calling)
2)Confirmation og spontaneous respiration (by the abdominl movement)
3)Confirmation of pulses (by palpating the common carotid and redial arteries)
4)Pupillary reflex to light (using a penlight)
5)Conrirmation of heart sound
6)Blood pressure measurement by a mercurial aneroid manometer (palpation and pulmonary diagnosis : blood pressure can be set at the user's discretion)

2. Setting of abnormal conditions
1)Setting of the time after respiratory arrest
2)Setting of the time arter cardiac arrest

3.Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
The simulator cries, 'Help,! at the start of training.
1)Airway clearing and mouth-to-mouth respiration training
2)cardiac massage
3)Blood pressure measurement by a manometer

4.Guidance by display and warning
1)Artificial respiration blowing amount(determination of appropriateness)
2)Failure of the sternal compression depth and hand position in cardiac massage(automatic warning in case of faiure)
3)Blood pressure and the presence of the spontaneous pulses

5.Functions
Appropriate CPR will revive the simulator. When CPR is inappropriate, the simulator will not be revived. Delayed of intermitted CPR worsens the condition of the simulator and delayus resuscitation.

6.Confirmation of resuscitation and vital signs
The simulator says, ""Thank you, !"" when it is resuscitated.

7.Printing and evaluation of training results
The training process can be printed out. The data can used to evaluate trainees' technique and give them appropriate advice.
